A Welcome Message from Our Pastor

Welcome to the Wentz Memorial United Church of Christ website. We sincerely hope that you will enjoy your stay and continue your visit by joining us for Sunday worship or for any of our numerous ministries, events and activities.

We are a culturally and ethnically diverse, open and affirming congregation who warmly welcomes all into the fellowship, life and ministries of our church irrespective of your race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, cultural background, class or creed; you will truly be welcomed here!

We celebrate and welcome all to join us as we proclaim the gospel and work to establish the Kingdom of God through spiritual knowledge and through promoting justice and peace.

Learn a little about the history of our church and meet our pastor.

Our History

Our congregation was founded as the Peoples Congregational Church on October 21, 1921 by Dr. Samuel Wentz, its founder and first pastor.  As a Congregational church, the name was changed to our current name in 1957 after the formation of the United Church of Christ (UCC).  As a part of the roughly 5,000 member UCC fellowship of churches, we believe in God's continuing testament, His desire for us to be a church of extravagant welcoming and His command of us to bring about justice and peace in this world.
